Plan your hub tours yourself

From hub to hub through the Thülsfelder Talsperre recreation area

Originally, the hub system comes from the Belgian mining industry and served as an orientation guide underground. This simple signposting system came to us via the Netherlands. Whenever two or more cycle routes cross, a so-called hub is created. Each of these nodes is given a number between 1 and 99 and is marked on site with appropriate signs.

The ingenious idea:

You no longer need a detailed route description for your bike tour. You simply write down the hub numbers of the desired route on a piece of paper and follow along. Or you can use the interactive Fietsknoop map below to plan your route. Click on the hub numbers and create your own individual cycle tour. You can either print out the hub numbers and the course of the route or download them as a GPS track. Along the way on your bike, you can also easily follow signs between the hub signs to your destination.
